Data Widget FAQ
The questions people ask before downloading — answered straight.
Does Data Widget need my carrier account or login?
No. Data Widget totals cellular bytes on-device against the cap you set. There is no carrier login, no SMS scraping, and no extra data used just to check.
Is Data Widget a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase of $1.99. Home Screen, Lock Screen, StandBy and Apple Watch widgets are part of the app, not an upgrade, and nothing you already paid for gets moved behind a new plan later.
Why does the number differ from Settings > Cellular?
On-device totals can differ from Settings > Cellular because of VPN, Personal Hotspot, or carrier rounding. The app explains this in Settings, and calibration lines the ledger up with the number on your bill.
Does Data Widget support dual SIM and eSIM?
Yes. You can count both lines together, primary only, or split them — useful with a travel eSIM. Data Widget works with 5G and LTE cellular interfaces.
Which devices does Data Widget support?
iPhone with iOS 17 or later, and Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later for complications. On iPad it only counts on cellular models.
Can Data Widget warn me before I go over?
Yes. Optional alerts fire at 80%, 90%, or when you run out — once per tier each cycle. You can also get an alert when usage runs ahead of time.
Does Data Widget show ads or track my location?
No. There are no ads and no location access. Usage is counted on-device against the plan you configure.
